Ways to Pay Your Utility Bill

Ways To Pay your Utility Bill:

-Pay in Person (No fees for Cash / Check Payments) (3.7% Fee for Credit/Debit Card)

-Drop off checks at our Dropbox located in front of City Hall for any payment after hours or simply for your convenience (No processing fees for checks. Please ensure your account number is in the memo)

-Don’t want to create an account, but want to still pay online? Use Quickpay:  (municipalonlinepayments.com) (E-Check $1.95 / Credit Card & Debit Card 3.7% Processing Fees Apply)

-Autopay on the Municipal Website– Email Required for Sign Up (E-Check Fee($1.95) and Credit/Debit Card Fee (3.7%).

Autopay Form: Fill out an ACH form with City Hall for direct ACH which will draft on the 10th of each month. NO PROCESSING FEES

-Check with your bank on Bill Pay

 

Utility Due Date, Penalty, and Shutoff Information

Utility bills are due on the 15th of each month.

A 10% penalty is added on the 16th of the month if bill is left unpaid.

Payments with incurred penalty must be received by the 25th of the month to avoid water shut off.

Failure to pay will result in water shut off on the 26th of the month, fees will apply.

Service will be reconnected only after (Per Ordinance 13.04.230):

Account has been paid in full and there remains no balance.

$25 disconnect fee in each instance.

$75 after-hours reconnect fee.

South Dakota driver’s license expires on the expiration date.

Licenses can be renewed up to six months before the expiration date.

Applications must be filled out one hour before closing in order to complete the exam on the same day.

No drive tests are given between 11:30 – 1:30.

Driver license renewals/duplicates will not be issued by mail unless the applicant has been issued a federally compliant (REAL ID) drivers license after December 30, 2009. If you are out-of-state and need a temporary permit to extend your driver license, please either email DPS (all emails must contain your first and last name) or call directly at 605-773-6883.

Vehicle Registration

To register or renew your vehicle, you need to work with the Motor Vehicle Department. All vehicles in South Dakota must be titled and registered in order to legally operate on South Dakota roadways. A nonresident moving into the state has 90 days to register and title a vehicle.

For information about registration, titling procedures, car plates and license tags, and buying and selling vehicles, call the County Treasurer office at the courthouse in Elk Point at 1-605-356-2391. You can also visit the County Treasurer’s webpage for more information.
