Friends of the Library Moving Forward

At the January 21 City Council Meeting, the Friends of the Library presented an update on fundraising activities for the proposed new library facility.  According to Friends officials, the total amount of funds available (excluding the City’s contribution) is $532,991.70.  In a unanimous vote, the Council authorized the architect to proceed with finalizing the documents and drawings in preparation for bidding the project.

Library Accreditation

The North Sioux City Community Library was one of seven South Dakota libraries who were accredited by the South Dakota State Library. Deb Matthys, Library Director, represented the NSC Community Library at a ceremony before lawmakers and the public in the Capitol Rotunda in Pierre on January 10, 2013.

Search NSC's online card catalog at Follett Destiny to check your account, browse our card catalog, renew materials and check material available, all from the convenience of your own home. Once you're on the page, select Login at the top right hand side of the page. Then enter your account information to access your profile. You can even use this website to put books on hold, and we will have them ready for pick up the next time you come to the library.

Checkouts & Renewals

Movies can be checked out for 1 week.
Books and audio books have a 2 week checkout time.
All materials may be renewed one time; except inter-library loan materials.

Materials may be renewed online or over the phone by calling 605-422-2366.

User Fee

City residents may utilize all the library has to offer at no cost.

For patrons living outside of the North Sioux City corporate limits, there is a $25.00 annual family user fee.
