How to Become a North Sioux City

North Sioux is pleased to partner with local businesses.

 

Anyone looking to start a business is encouraged to use South Dakota's Economic Development link to get you started. You will find many resources available to you with a click of the mouse.

Individuals or entities wanting to do business in North Sioux City must file a business license application. Click this link to get a copy of our business license application. Applications can be left in the Finance Office at City Hall with a $20 application fee. Any changes to the information provided on the applications should be provided to the City office within 30 days of changes.

Annual licenses are in effect from July 1 to June 30. Regardless of the application date, there is no proration to the annual fee.

Businesses with a current license in place will be placed on the City's Online Business Directory.

Any person or entity found operating a business without a current license will be subject to a $500 fine.
