Snow Removal in North Sioux
All sidewalks should be free from snow and/or ice, and sidewalks which end at intersections or crosswalks need to clear snow and/or ice to the edge of the street. Make sure when removing snow/ice, it is not placed on the street, other's sidewalks, in parks, blocking vehicles or traffic.
Snow removal from City streets is a priority with the Streets department, but it can only be done in conjunction with residents. Vehicles kept off roads until plows have past, will allow for speedier snow removal. One car left on the street can plug about three surrounding driveways.
The Mayor, Police Chief and Streets Superintendent work diligently together during any weather situation. If a winter weather emergency presents itself, residents will be notified via the sioux-area's alert system via public television, radio stations or snow cap. You are advised to stay off the roads during this time.
